Christmas' True Essence

"Let sing Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday
This season may we never forget the love we have for Jesus
Let Him be the one to guide us
As another new year starts
And may the spirit of Christmas
Be always in our hearts..."

There are only few days left before the most awaited day every year! But what is the real essence of it? Is it the gifts you give and receive? Is it about the food we serve and eat? Or is it about the celebration of Jesus' birth?
As the song above says, we must always remember Jesus Christ and feel His presence not only during Christmas day but every day in our life. We must share our love, happiness and care to each and everyone, not only gifts and money. Learn also to forgive and forget.
Christmas is about sharing the blessings you receive. Let us enjoy celebrating our Christmas season with our family and loved ones!
                   GOD BLESS EVERYONE! :)

Climate Change: Affecting Our Lives

Climate Change. Picture from www.unep.org
CLIMATE CHANGE: one of the worst things that may happen here on earth. All of us do not want this but because of our wrongdoings toward Mother Earth, this was made possible. And it is even very visible to our eyes.

This really affects our lives. And one proof of it was the incident happened to our fellow Filipinos living in the Visayas part, region VII especially, which was the most damaged part hit by the super typhoon Yolanda. The place was really washed out that it even looks like it was erased in our map.

Actually, this may not happen if we, from the start already did some actions to prevent it. But we chose to make it more possible by not respecting our nature. We throw garbage here, there and everywhere! Big things start from small things. Even small amount of trash may greatly affect our environment.

Even it is already late, let us move and act to help mother earth. Let us save her. Do something for her to regain its beauty. Act now. It is better to be late than never!

Equal Rigthts. Equal Opportunities

Men and women here in the modern world are now treated equally. There are things that are for men only but now, women can do it also. And there are times that they can do it better than men, and vice versa.

But before, women are discriminated and are treated like their servants. They do not even let women study in schools because they think that women are not that smart like them. But some women pursued and fought for their rights to be treated equally.

Let us remember that God created us equally and unique in our own ways. Let us respect each others’ talents and give fair opportunities to each and every one.

"Going Global Through the English Language"

English Language being influential to other countries...

English is considered as our second language here in the Philippines. And this is the language commonly used worldwide. Using this, we can understand each other. We can communicate with other countries.

And for each of us to be developed in speaking English, there are some seminars and certain activities performed in schools.

Here in Ilocos Sur National High School, annually, we are celebrating the English Month. And the club officers are holding different events for a whole month, for the students to join in.

Their activities, I think are effective in improving the English skills of every student here. We can see that many students are joining and participates their contests showing off their skills.

Reflection ~ 2nd Grading Period

Many things happened during the Second Grading. There are situations which made the IV - Maxwell class stronger. We faced challenges in our lives as one and we successfully solved it.
As time passes by, the whole class is getting closer to each other unlike during the first grading period. The number of my friends also increased. They support me in times of challenges and hardships.
I am not expecting to be included in the honor list. For all I know, I am so effortless during the first grading period. I am also feeling that my grades will get lower because I think almost all of the time, I cannot understand our lessons because sometimes I am so slow in analyzing such things. But on the other hand, I am proud of myself because I proved to myself and to others that I can do it, that I can also be on the honors.
ICT 2nd Grading Period is such fun! Posting in our blogs, starting to make the basic steps in making a web page is really enjoying. I learned how to operate the HTML Tags and on how to use the Notepad. Even we missed many classes because of the holidays, typhoons and school events; we still tried to finish all our hands – on activities.
Our teacher, Mrs. Vera Cruz is such a hardworking one. Sometimes, during our period and we are doing our activities, we can see her table full of documents! But still, she can manage to teach us our lessons. And because of all her efforts, she is the Most Outstanding Teacher in entire Vigan City.
I need to improve more next grading. I should focus more to my studies for me to attain a higher grade and rank.

Teachers are True Heroes (Teachers' Month Celebration 2013)

They are the one who sacrifices from morning to evening. Even though they don’t have enough sleep, they still want to help others to gain more information that can be used in the future. A teacher plays a big role in every person’s life. They do not only teach us new information but they inspire us. They help us to attain our goals in life. They help others especially the children. They are also our second parents who also love, care, and support and guide us to be a better person as time goes by.  They do not want us to be lost from the right path.

I know that sometimes in a class, the discussions are boring. So sometimes, teachers should do something that would make his students interested.

I remember one of my teachers. Mr. Rodolfo Raquel, our English IV teacher. When the class started, almost all of us thought that he is a boring and serious type teacher. He only discusses topics he needs to discuss. But as weeks passed by, we realized that we are definitely wrong. He is one of the best teachers! Sometimes, in the middle of class discussions, he will just sing a song like “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and he even rapped the poem “For Anne Gregory”, which really amazed us. He is really a unique one. And I know that many students admire his style of teaching.  He also inspired us to study even better when he let us take a look at his pictures when he studied at England. He’s just a great one.

And during the Teachers’ Day Celebration, we visited him at the English faculty room. We sang “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and the Peter Little Rabbit song. And guess what, while we were singing it, he performed some dance steps and even posed at the end of the song.

Sometimes, outside the four corners of the classroom, teachers are like our friends who we can trust in times of hardship. Let us thank them for being there for us every time.
